For information about the current tax bill or for the amount paid on a bill that is not delinquent please call the Boone County Sheriff at (859) 334-2175 or visit their website at www.boonecountyky.org/SO/default.aspx Our office cannot accept partial payments on delinquent tax bills. If you are unable to make a full payment of your delinquent tax bill you may call the Boone County Attorney’s Office to make payment arrangements. Their phone number is (859) 334-3200. Each year the County Clerk’s Office is responsible for conducting a tax sale on the delinquent tax bills. During the tax sale, the delinquent tax bills are eligible to be purchased by a third party. On April 16th, the Boone County Sherriff will turn over the unpaid tax bills to the County Clerk’s Office. The tax sale may occur no earlier than 90 days and no later than 135 days after the bills have been turned over to the County Clerk’s Office. The actual date of the sale will be determined by the Revenue Department and will be posted on their website www.revenue.ky.gov. The delinquent bills must be advertised no more than 45 days and no less than 30 days before the tax sale. The 2014 delinquent tax bills will be sold on Tuesday August 25, 2015 at 7:30 am at the Boone County Clerk’s Burlington Office. (Fiscal Court Room).
